There will be direct services from Lichfield City to Burton, Derby and beyond at 10.03 and 11.03 on the following Sundays, due to engineering work at Water Orton: –

These services will go to Edinburgh via Burton, Derby, Sheffield, Leeds, York and Newcastle. Other Cross-Country services from Southampton, Reading & Bristol to the North East & Scotland in both directions will be routed through Lichfield all day, but unfortunately will not stop there. The group will be writing to Cross Country Trains to try and persuade them to stop more diverted weekend trains at Lichfield City in future.
From Sunday 9th March, the trains will revert to the normal route via Tamworth.

Just to place on record that many users of the Cross City line are strong supporters of HS2 and are disappointed that the local Lichfield M.P. opposes the current HS2 proposal.
